    Unfortunately, a couple of my friends have died while riding. But I do have to say they were no saints on the road and caused their own misfortune. My last friend who died the last conversation I had with him was about speeding. He said he was addicted to speed. I told him I was the bike in the slow lane. He rear-ended a suv on the freeway, doing 150mph. Unfortunately I see alot of riders like him. And I have to say none of them are old riders

    The type on the visor is a good idea to exercise the ability to see through the visor not at the visor

    That is true, it is not legal for a citizen to hold another at gunpoint. You can sit on them or hold them with your hands though. But be careful, people do crazy Stuff when they know they are caught. Better to call the cops and follow them until the cops show up

    3:52 Here you're comparing lifetime risk to 1-year risk. I strongly support your channel and want you to be successful, but please just take this misinformation-bomb of a video off of UA-cam, you're badly misleading your subscribers.

  • @PMitchell106
    @PMitchell106 3 години тому

    3:33, where did this screenshot come from? whoever wrote this is citing numbers from the same 2019 NHTSA report as the Insurance Information Institute article you previously cited, but they badly misrepresented the data.

  • @PMitchell106
    @PMitchell106 3 години тому

    3:10 This is a severe abuse of statistics. 1) Not all registered motorcycles are ridden 2) many motorcyclists have more than one bike, Because of 1 and 2, the number of registered bikes is going to be much larger than the total number of people who ride. 3) not all motorcycle crashes are reported to NHTSA (the agency that compiled the data cited by the insurance information institute), if possible, most motorcyclists prefer not to be cited in single vehicle crashes with non-life-threatening injuries. 4) Even in reported crashes, many riders forego medical treatment. That doesn't mean the rider didn't get road rash, bruises, a concussion, or other injuries. Because of 3 and 4, the NHTSA reported numbers are going to be much smaller than the actual number of people who are injured on a motorcycle. 5) The 84,000 injuries figure is just in one year, most people ride for a lot more than one year, so the percentage of motorcyclists who are injured in a crash would be much higher even if you ignored problems 1-4. This type of bad analysis is what *creates* myths.

    That was the most un-American thing I've ever heard you say since I've been watching your show lol. Have you ever heard of the second amendment? You have absolutely the right to pull a gun on someone to protect your property your person your family your things. That's not being a vigilanti at all that's taking care of your chit. 😂 Here's the second amendment of our Constitution of the United States and remember this amendment it protects all the other ones. A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.

    I think you could have thought this one out more! How many accidents were AVOIDED because another motorist HEARD the motorcycles LOUD pipes before seeing them??? Guess we’ll never know!!! Comparing a mid priced car to one of the most expensive motorcycle is justifiable?!? Don’t think so! No way automobile maintenance is comparable to motorcycle maintenance per year! That dog jest don’t hunt!!! Not one of your best videos!!! But I do enjoy your channel 👍

    most of the people making these arent actually stunt riders and its actaully way more dangerous than doing things without the cage, it adds more weight making practise pointless and your much more likely to get injured from crashing this rather than crashing a normal bike

    This is not advice, just something to think about. When I'm offered advice, I listen. Every time. Is it good advice or bad? I'll decide that after I hear it. But if 99 people give me advice I already know and 1 tells me something I didn't think of, that's a gain. Even if it doesn't apply to me most of the time, on the day it becomes relevant I'll be glad I listened. Don't make the mistake of disregarding what a young or less experienced rider has to say. Just listen. It could be useful. Or it could be wrong and you might correct him/her. Many things can happen on the road. Good, bad, very bad. It could be biker error or driver error. Concerning a conflict with a car or truck, FAULT is 100% irrelevant. What I mean: You're on a 4 lane, One Way street, approaching an intersection. You're in the left lane. You're not required to turn left and you don't intend to. As you enter the intersection, the guy 2 lanes over (to your right) & a little ahead of you realizes this is his turn. He cuts off the car beside you and turns in front of it. You see him coming and try to turn inside him, but can't turn sharp enough. You're going 10 mph when he hits you. You're 200 pounds on a 600 pound bike. So you hit the ground with the force of 800 pounds. You hit so hard that at just 10 mph, you still slide 12 feet on your stomach and elbows. When you stop, your head hits the pavement like the end of a bull whip and your skull is crushed. OR you were wearing a helmet and your head bounces and you don't feel a thing. You get up with just a broken radial head (elbow.) You might have done everything "by the book" just like the law says. Several witnesses agree that it's obvious beyond a doubt the driver is at fault. That means nothing. In the left lane on a one way street at an intersection? WTF was I thinking? I've been riding long enough to know better. That is a common occurrence. However. That was 2005. Since I got a MC license in 1979, that was my first collision with a car (pickup.) That was also the first time in 29 years a helmet saved my life. Laws are not written by or for the benefit of bikers. "His Fault" is not going to put the Skin back on your Bones. Never forget YOU are the FIRST and LAST person responsible for your safety.

    I have been avoiding riding after dark for many years animals moving and unseen hazards in the Roads. Yes headlamps are a problem being connected to SUVs and pickups that present a increased danger over cars in a collision.

    I scuba dive a lot. I dive with a rebreather, and what I teach students is that a rebreather is a machine that is trying to kill you. A moment's inattention can kill. A motorcycle, at least for me, is the same. It is a machine that is trying to kill me. Only by being hypervigilant to the environment can I hope to always arrive alive.

    I was heading home from work one particular day, and the car in front, not only could I see him through the rear window with his phone up to his face, but I could see him in the side mirror too, and he did NOT look before he changed lanes without indicating. at the next set of lights I pulled up next to him and looked straight in his drivers window at him, pointed at my Hemet cam, he wound down the window and I told him "I'm sending this footage to the police" and he said for what? "you really don't know?" "what do you mean?" He genuinely had no idea that being on his phone could have resulted in a fatal accident had I been a couple of bike lengths further forward. Totally oblivious! and this tells me that an add campaign showing this exact scenario and the driver of the car going to jail for careless use of a motor vehicle causing death & a second charge of manslaughter is the only way to get through to some people! OK that disc brake lock is definitely going on the shopping list. If it F's up the locksmith, it should do the same to a thief who doesn't have a Van full of spare tools! Here in Auckland, New Zealand. we have had such an influx of immigrants since the "Pandemic" that both housing prices and Congestion has gone through the roof! the traffic is worse than it has ever been, and the average skill level of drivers has plummeted!
